GriffinGriffin routers offer the perfect solution for managed internet connection environments. With examples of Griffin routers being used effectively in hotels to provide very high levels of management and control down to being setup for small business to provide a simple, secure and reliable gateway out to the internet.
Griffins are exceptional in their approach to limiting and controlling internet access through their Walled Garden design. This design when enabled forces all users who are not granted internet access (like hotel guests, café visitors, ect) to go through an authentication page. This page is one of your key points of control and management, allowing options of control of access via the following methods:
- Pin
Pin numbers can be generated by staff through the Griffin interface and can include the controlling factors of bandwidth and life duration of the pin. This is the most common implementation of both charged and free to customer access limiting, due to its requirement that each user acquires a pin from a staff member.
- Room Number and Password
The Griffin can interact with many hotel booking packages through emulation of telephone systems. This allows for effective and accountable billing and with the room number and password provides ample security to ensure each guest can only access their own internet access accounts.
- User Name and Password
The user name and password system is designed to allow users to keep 1 account when using internet access in multiple premises. Often these users will have business accounts and they will always stay within the same brand/s of hotel. There details can be authenticated against an external RADIUS server to ensure cross site user synchronisation.
- Credit Card Information/Billing
Direct charging to the users credit card for there internet access, with one of the worlds largest and most reputable authorisation services.
Other features on the Griffin include the ability to load balance over multiple internet connections and to limit different groups/types of traffic. Bandwidth limiting on a per user basis, to allow for maximum control. Supports both wired and wireless environments along with being able to act as a sole access point, or being integrated into a network.
Common implementations of Griffins are at Hotels, to provide room, bar, reception, lounge, conference room access. Internet café’s to provide precise and highly controlled access to customers. Apartment and shared housing environments to allow for accurate bandwidth monitoring and limiting.
